Welcome to You
Hello, I am Dr Erika Epps a.k.a. Dr. E. Just like you, I have known invading, uninvited, chaotic, and the emotionally distressing experience called GRIEF! My dad passed away December 18, 2020, and my Gram, a month to the day earlier thus plunging me on a journey of loss I did not want to travel.
Â
GRIEF does not ask for permission nor care if you are not ready. It is coming kicking down your heart's door.
Â
Have you experienced many emotional feelings, cognitive distress, and trying to navigate living when you feel so lost?
Â
Walking around in circles looking for something and it is right in front of you?
Â
Feeling like you are walking in brain fog and nothing releases you from it?
Â
Trying to stop crying or wishing you could cry?
Â
Sleep...what's that?
Â
Feeling like you have to stay strong for others around you yet secretly you want someone to see your weakness?
Â
Does this sound familiar? You are not alone, I promise you.
Â
Grief is unseen yet it is powerfully felt. That is why grief support is crucial to healing and finding acceptance and meaning.
Here is a photo of my dad and I on a beautiful sunny day in Antioch, California, which was the last time I saw him in person. He was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, and it was a seven-year process of decline. This photo represents a beautiful day of love, presence, and fluid memory. This day was a gift to me to embrace for the final time the dad I knew loved me and knew me in those moments. Precious and priceless!
